  Was looking for a new optometrist nearby as my previous one moved locations. Took my 11 year old here for exam and contact lenses consultation / fittings and the whole process was disappointing, frustrating and took longer than necessary due to staff turnover this office has and how its being managed. The optometrist we initially met with and PAID for an eye exam and contact lens fittings stopped working here, subsequent appointments we had to deal with a different staff member(s) providing inconsistent advice to my child creating confusion. The owner/optometrist would almost always pull away the staff member supervising my child even though the times they booked us were 'non peak' hours and my child needed help learning to put on the contacts. Finally had 1 staff member assigned after I gave my piece of mind to the optometrist. Gave 2 out of 5 largely due to this staff member's efforts in trying to help us. At the end, after 3 consecutive sessions of putting contacts on independently, we were informed we were good to go and could now purchase contacts. They then expected me to purchase from them as they claim to have lower prices than Costco etc. however I found Costco to be much cheaper and when Costco requested prescription, they were given a hard time by this office. I had to book yet another appointment to go get the prescription released. Its unfortunate that we had already paid at our initial visit for services and had to follow through with same optometrist office because based on our experience it definitely is not patient centric. Not going back for sure.

  Our experience at Richmond Hill Optometric Clinic was excellent. This clinic is not the closest to where we live but we recommended to this clinic by a close friend and I'm glad we listened to their advice. The principal optometrist (Dr. Chawla) was very professional, gave excellent advice and recommendations. She worked particularly well with our 3 children and was able to put them at ease whilst performing a thorough exam. The assistants too were helpful in the selection of frames and gave constructive opinions on suitability which I found very helpful when faced by a wall of frames. Would definitely recommend the visit.
